Inclusive education
Practice grounded in communication, dignity, participation and individual development.
Practitioner. Founder. Emerging researcher.
Bashir Abdulmalik works at the intersection of specialist SEND practice, culturally responsive family engagement and evidence-led systems change.

01 / Profile
I believe inclusion is not achieved by placement alone. It is achieved when institutions learn to recognise difference, listen in more than one way and make participation possible.
Since July 2023, I have supported learners aged 11–19 with complex autism, Down syndrome, and profound and multiple learning disabilities within a specialist UK local-authority school.
My work uses EHCP-informed provision, AAC, PODD communication books, Makaton, Positive Behaviour Support and multidisciplinary collaboration to help learners communicate, participate and exercise choice.
02 / Areas of focus
Practice grounded in communication, dignity, participation and individual development.
Culturally responsive engagement with African and immigrant families navigating SEND systems.
Connecting practitioner knowledge, child development, evidence and institutional response.
Building ideas with relevance to the United Kingdom and inclusive-education development in Africa.
03 / Research direction
My developing research examines how culturally responsive family engagement, accessible professional communication and improved SEND navigation can strengthen educational participation and outcomes for African and immigrant families in the United Kingdom.
Over time, I intend to develop comparative work with relevance to inclusive-education policy and workforce capability in Sub-Saharan Africa.
